Adrian Garner is an experienced consultant and non-executive director with more than 40 years of international experience across regulation, compliance, governance, financial services and law.
Throughout his career, Adrian has sat on the boards of and managed regulated financial institutions, with responsibility for compliance, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing frameworks, governance and risk management. He has extensive experience advising organisations on regulatory strategy, policy development, due diligence, monitoring and the management of complex compliance environments.
Adrian has also advised governments and regulators on regulatory and compliance policy and has been involved in negotiating and drafting legislation, regulations and associated policies. His experience includes acting for government and regulatory authorities in Jersey and Malta, as well as for a predecessor of the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Before moving into consultancy and senior board roles, Adrian practised law in Jersey, London and Brussels. His career has included senior positions within investment management and financial services, alongside longstanding work as a consultant and non-executive director.
Adrian brings particular expertise in navigating complex cross-border regulatory matters, strengthening governance and oversight arrangements and resolving challenging regulatory and compliance issues. His approach combines legal, regulatory and commercial experience with a practical focus on delivering workable solutions.
Adrian is an Advocate of the Jersey Bar and a member of the Bar of England and Wales. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Buckingham and a Diplôme d’Études Juridiques from the University of Aix-Marseille.
