Robert Eastick is a cryptocurrency investigations specialist and former Detective Sergeant with the Metropolitan Police Service, where he served for more than 26 years. During his policing career he specialised in complex financial crime investigations, asset tracing, and confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

He was instrumental in establishing and leading the Metropolitan Police’s dedicated Cryptocurrency Investigation Team, developing operational capabilities to trace and recover illicit digital assets. His work placed him at the forefront of law enforcement efforts to understand and investigate the criminal use of cryptocurrencies, and he played a key role in some of the earliest UK investigations involving digital asset tracing and restraint. In 2024 he was the first police officer in the UK to obtain a Crypto Wallet Freezing Order under the new provisions of their Proceeds of Crime Act.

Robert is now Crypto Investigation Lead at iSanctuary, where he focuses on developing advanced technologies and investigative methodologies to prevent the dispersion of illicit assets and support the tracing and recovery of stolen cryptocurrency. His work combines blockchain analytics, open-source intelligence, and legal innovation to assist law firms, investigators, and private clients involved in complex asset recovery cases.

He has been involved in the development of investigative platforms and tools designed to identify the movement of digital assets across blockchain networks and provide real-time intelligence to investigators. His work also explores emerging legal mechanisms for tackling crypto-enabled fraud and improving the ability of victims to pursue recovery through civil proceedings.

Robert regularly contributes to discussions on cryptocurrency investigations, digital asset recovery, and financial crime, and works with legal and investigative professionals internationally to strengthen capabilities in this rapidly evolving field.
